CSA Leadership Opportunities
CSA also offers leadership opportunities for dedicated volunteers to take on a facilitator role for L4C and Soup Kitchen. Any interested student should first participate in CSA programs to observe a Leader in action and gain experience before applying. Applications are closed for 2026.
St. Thomas of Canterbury Soup Kitchen Outreach offers opportunities for motivated volunteers to serve guests in an atmosphere of hospitality. Loyola has partnered with St. Thomas for many years to provide volunteers for their weekly meals on Tuesdays or Fridays between 3:15 and 7:30 p.m. to assist. Soup Kitchen Leaders coordinate the logistics, transportation, safety, and community of the program, with support from CSA Staff. Soup Kitchen Leaders also plan weekly reflections and attend monthly meetings with the CSA Coordinator. 4.5 hour commitment every week, 3 additional hours each month.
Loyola4Chicago is a Community Service and Action program in which students provide once-weekly volunteer service to one of 10 organizations in Chicago during the academic year. Students work in service teams at various sites including work with children, immigrants, folks with disabilities, folks experiencing homelessness, and the elderly, among others. Each volunteer team is led by a Student Leader who coordinates the logistics, transportation, safety, and community of the program, with support from CSA Staff. Leaders plan and facilitate the group's reflections twice a month. Leaders also attend monthly meetings with the CSA coordinator. 4 hour commitment every week, 3 additional hours each month.

CSA Peer Mentor Program
Are you interested in meeting other Loyola students who value service and justice? Are you looking for more connection and community on campus? Consider joining our CSA Peer Mentor program as a Mentee! Mentees will be matched with CSA Student Leader Mentors to build friendships together.
Matches agree to meet at least once a month one on one. Mentees will be paired with a Peer Mentor based on what they are interested in. There are limited spots for Mentees each Fall and not everyone will be matched, simply because we have limited Mentors available.
The Mentee Interest Form has closed. Please email us if you have any questions serve@luc.edu
